Broken Shoestrings

What happens when your shoestring breaks? If you are like me, you don't have any spares on hand, so you tie the two broken ends together and make do. But for how long do you go on with that state of affairs. I suppose one could go indefinitely if he had (a) no time to go to go to a discount store and pick up a pair and/or (b) no money.

It is a fair analogy for ministry when we are talking about maximum impact on a minimum budget. It is also a fairly good corrective to my main thesis that you don't need a lot of money and other resources to do ministry. Sometimes you just have to spend a little bit of money and a little bit of time to fine tune, repair, or complete a mission.

A little time and a little money might just get you out of the holding pattern and add a little bit of class to your image.

There is nothing like a cheap set of new shoestrings to really brighten up a pair of sneakers.
